8-10m over mud & weed. Good shelter.
The two islands have many anchorages with a lot having stone quays that offer stern too mooring. But the quays usually have ballast that extends quite a way out making getting ashore difficult and in the summer can be chock a block so anchoring is often prefered.
Holding is often good over sand or small stones but some anchorages are over mud and it can be difficult to get the anchor set. With the steep too coast it is possible in many bays to anchor and run a stern line ashore, take precaution against chafing if staying for any length of time.
